Living a Life of Gratitude
By James Templeton The greatest source of happiness is the ability to be grateful at all times. – Zig Ziglar It is a great day to be alive! I am often overwhelmed with gratitude that my journey through Stage IV cancer ended with life and health, not an early passing. In my healing journey, I’ve learned gratitude and a positive attitude have great healing power. Read on to find out how to live a life of gratitude! Develop an Attitude of Gratitude One of the best weapons against worry, doubt and depression is gratitude. It truly is always a great day to be alive when you’ve stared death in the face and won. It’s hard to be discouraged when you are counting all the blessings in your life. Gratitude is a very powerful force that we can use for long-lasting happiness and better overall health. Practice gratitude especially when you don’t feel like it, when it feels like all of life is against you, nothing is going your way, and when you feel like things will never get better. That’s when you need it the most. I understand sometimes it’s hard to think of even one thing to be grateful for, but it’s important. That’s how you pull yourself up out of the hole that worry, depression and doubt help you dig. We attract into our lives the things we think about and focus on. You can make a list of things you’re grateful for or things you like about yourself, or write a thank you note or letter to thank someone who has been good to you or even changed your life. No matter what is going on in your life, there is always something to be grateful for. Turn Your Negative into a Positive Negativity is not good for your health. Most of us are aware of the impact stress can have on your health, but did you know feeling helpless and hopeless can create a stress on your body that disrupts hormone balance, damages the immune system and depletes your body of the brain chemicals it needs for happiness? I find regret comes when I’m looking back instead of looking ahead. Even when I was my sickest and couldn’t do much more than lie in a hospital bed, I stayed positive, it was part of my fight. I visualized my healing and kept a vision for how I wanted to live my life. To this day, I set goals that keep me challenged and looking forward. Each time I reach one I set another. Having a goal keeps me focused on where I can go and what I need to do. I don’t have time to be negative and have a pity party. Your Words Have Power Masuru Emoto was a Japanese researcher who studied pure distilled water crystals to see the effect words, pictures, music and praying have on water. He believed the standard we all have in common is a deep desire for beauty. When you speak something that resonates with your body, it creates a beautiful design in the water crystals. Beautiful designs come from speaking your blessings. A non-resonating vibration, like hate, results in destructive energy and the crystals form a chaotic pattern instead of a beautiful one. Think about this. Roughly two-thirds of your body is water. So the way you speak, the pictures you look at, the music you listen to, and what you pray all change the composition of the water in your body. In Emoto’s studies, the most beautiful crystal formation came from speaking the word “gratitude” over the water. Speak life and health into your body every day! The world we live in makes it a challenge to be happy. We have 24/7 access to news and world events, and the majority of what they report is negative, and even scary. It’s not just the news, that’s only one example of the negativity that surrounds us. It’s the constant media message that who you are and what you have is never enough. Then there’s your self-talk. The negativity inside of us is so strong, I’m willing to bet if anyone talked to you the way you talk to you, you wouldn’t want that person in your life. I certainly wouldn’t have let anyone treat me the way I treated me back when I was living the unhealthy lifestyle I chose before I got sick with cancer. It’s time to turn it around. Practice gratitude, choose to be positive and speak life into your health and body. I believe these are key elements of a healthy lifestyle.
Learn moreThe Immune Boosting Power of Weight Loss and Detox
By James Templeton If you are overweight, even if you have a healthy diet and exercise, your immune system is impaired. We know from studies that have been done, that overweight and obese people are more likely to develop bacterial and viral infections, and more frequently die from these infections when they develop. Wounds don’t heal as well, and colds and flus more commonly turn into more serious infections like pneumonia. Researchers are still scratching their heads as to why this is, but we know it’s the actual weight that is causing the problem. What the researchers have yet to look at is the impact detoxification has on your weight, your immune system, and your body as a whole. I believe detox is the key to solving this mystery and making your healthy diet and exercise program work to turn your health and weight loss around. Detox Is Key for Weight Loss Being overweight is more than just a sign your diet isn’t healthy for you, it’s also a clue that you’ve been exposed to more toxins than your body can process and get rid of. Fat is like a sponge; it absorbs all the toxins your body can’t process and eliminate fast enough and stores them for you. Once your fat cells soak up these toxins, they swell to dilute them in an effort to make them less toxic. This swelling of your fat cells is also known as “water weight.” This is why, when you try a “lose weight quick” scheme that doesn’t include detox, you feel worse – even flu-like – when the initial water weight comes off. Your body worked hard to dilute all that toxic matter and once the water is gone you experience the toxins full force. One of the reasons it can be so hard to lose weight is because your body isn’t able to move the toxins out, because your organs also need to detoxify. Your body won’t let go of that fat unless it knows the toxins that will be released have an open route for elimination. A toxic body is more prone to disease. Constipation Is No Joke Constipation is a good example of this. If your bowels aren’t moving after every meal you eat, then you are constipated, and toxic waste just sits in your colon, waiting to be eliminated. But your body is so efficient, it will recycle everything even a little bit useful. There’s bile in that waste, and bile is precious to your body. Bile is made in the liver and stored in the gallbladder, and one of its main jobs is to carry toxins out from the fat into the bowel to be eliminated. With constipation, that thick, toxic bile is just sitting there, and your body doesn’t want it to go to waste, so it recycles it. Bile and its toxins are then sent back to the liver for another round of fat breakdown and detox. But this time, it’s thicker, moves slower, and already has toxins bound to it. So it’s less efficient this time, and congested. Once you have congestion in an organ as important for detox as the liver, toxins aren’t going to be processed and they’re going to back up. So, your fat cells come to the rescue and store those toxins to take some pressure off the liver. And if you don’t have enough fat cells for all the toxins, you’ll make more. Did you know if you get constipated often, you can have a low grade fever and flu-like symptoms from it? Having toxins sitting in your colon waiting to be eliminated is a stress to your immune system. Also, any bacteria or viruses or other bugs that are sitting in there waiting to be eliminated, start to grow, causing a low grade infection and fever. Isn’t it amazing something as common as constipation can lead to weight gain and impaired immune system functioning? If you are dealing with constipation, even if it’s not every day, I strongly encourage you to get on our Super-GI Cleanse and get cleaned out, to set you up for weight loss and a healthier immune response. If you are chronically constipated, I would also add our Bile Builder to cleanse that bile and help with fat metabolism. Beat the Sugar Blues Diets that are high in sugar and have too many carbohydrates make you more prone to infection. These diets raise your blood sugar, and ultimately your insulin levels. This causes oxidative damage, which is when you have more free radicals than your body is able to detoxify. This type of damage from reactive oxygen molecules increases your risk of infection. While the obvious solution to this problem is to cut the carbs and sugar, it’s not always as easy as it sounds. This is the time of year social eating is taking center stage. I love a good holiday meal, and I have learned to make healthy choices from the variety of foods that are available. But this can be tough to do with the social pressure from family and friends. When you are overweight, with your immune system impaired, it’s very easy for the Candida fungus to overgrow. Candida feeds on sugar. When you decrease the sugar and carbs in your diet, often your sugar cravings go through the roof. This is because the Candida is starting to die off, and sends out chemical signals which cause you to crave sugar so intensely. My solution for these issues is to take Y-C Cleanse along with a good probiotic during the holidays. This is a gentle yet effective cleanse to reduce or eliminate Candida from your system, and help you with sugar cravings. If you’ve overcome Candida and decide to indulge in more carbs, Y-C Cleanse can be used to keep Candida from taking root again. It’s also important to keep from being constipated during this time. As Candida yeast dies off, it can constipate you just from the sheer volume of it. Keep things moving with Magnesium or Vitamin C to bowel tolerance, and it will help clear that Candida out. We hope this article gave you useful information regarding weight loss and detox.

By James Templeton I was losing the battle with cancer – I could feel it. I overheard the nurses talking about the day before, when they let my temperature get so high during the treatment that I almost didn’t come back around. My body wasn’t responding to the experimental chemo, and I truly felt they would kill me if I took any more treatments. I confronted my doctor, “What are my chances here? I need to know what I’m up against.” “IF you can get through these treatments, you have a 20% chance of survival. But that’s only for 3 to 5 years. If your body doesn’t respond to the chemo, or you can’t handle the treatments, you don’t have a chance in the world, in my opinion.” That was some of the worst news I’ve ever heard. I was very, very upset. I knew there had to be a better way. I just knew there had to be something else I could do. The Power of a Prayer I was lying there feeling pretty desperate and all I could think to do next was pray. I’ve never prayed so hard in my life as I did in that moment. It felt like every cell in my body was praying for God to help me. I can’t explain it, but the atmosphere around me changed. I never had this kind of feeling before. It felt like there was an energy around me. It didn’t take long, maybe 15 or 20 minutes later, and there was a knock at my hospital room door. A friend from college, who I hadn’t seen in about 7 years, came in waving a piece of paper. “I heard about you, James, and I feel so bad. I didn’t know what I should do for you, and I was talking to a friend at my office about it. He said he found an article about a guy who cured himself of cancer on this natural diet.” And he handed that paper to me. I Got the Answer I knew whatever was in my hand was what I needed to do. It was an answer to my prayer! I knew where it was coming from, and I decided right then I was going to do whatever this guy did to get well. I believed that whatever worked for this guy would work for me, too. I read the article. It was a book review for Confessions of a Kamikaze Cowboy by Dirk Benedict. Dirk Benedict at that time was a popular, young actor on the show the A-Team. And it’s a funny thing I know may sound crazy, but his first name on that show was Templeton, which is my last name, and that felt like a sign to me. I could relate to this guy – he was good looking; he was a farmer from Montana and I had a ranch in Texas; and we were fairly close in age. I read that book and I got excited, I really felt like this was going to work for me! But the story doesn’t end there… The next day, someone else brought me another book. And this was a book about vitamin C and cancer by Linus Pauling. I had never heard of that either. I read the book and knew this was the right answer for me, too. I got excited because it talked about people who were terminal with cancer and came around with the vitamin C. Listen, I probably don’t pray as much as I should, but my faith is strong. But up until that day, I thought the way you get well was to go to the doctor for anything that bothers you and have them tell you what to do. Now I was starting to learn where the real answers come from. The next day, there came another knock at my door. This time, it was the psychotherapist from the hospital. I asked him about all I had just learned. He walked over and shut the door and looked nervous. He said, “Listen, you have to promise me what I’m about to say will never leave this room. If you tell anybody, I could lose my job, my pension, everything I’ve worked for over the past 30 years. These guys don’t like me talking about this kind of stuff.” “You’re not going anywhere until you tell me everything you know!” I couldn’t just let him leave knowing he had information I needed. So I got him cornered there and he started telling me everything. He told me he knew several people who had gotten well from this approach. He said you really have to put 100% into it and said he felt like I could do it. Take the First Step I was so excited, I felt like I’d found the secret to everything. And as I look back on that time in my life, I know that the steps I took from the information in those books were the keys to my healing from stage IV cancer. I believe through that prayer I was given the tools I needed to save my life. I understand we all look at the concept of a higher power through our own life experiences and beliefs. I’m not here to tell you what to believe about that. But we all need to trust that there’s a wisdom and knowledge that come from asking for what we need to heal ourselves, and not wait for someone else to do it for us. I truly believe God helps those who help themselves. You’ve got to be willing to give it 100%, roll up your sleeves, do the work, and be determined to do whatever it takes to get the results you’re asking for. And I’ll be here to encourage and inspire you every step of the way.

Confused about which Fat Flush weight loss and detox plan is right for you? Whether your goal is 5 pounds or more than 50 pounds, there is a plan just right for you. Once you understand how to tailor the plan to your personal needs, fitting into that little black dress becomes a goal you can reach and not just a dream. Weight Loss Roadblocks Before we get into the plans, let’s first go over why diets fail and how you can avoid these roadblocks. Roadblock #1: Not Enough Calories When you have a higher metabolism, more weight, or are fighting illness, your body has a greater need for nutrient dense calories. Some diets go so low in calories your body goes into a type of starvation mode, and holds on to every calorie it gets. In this situation, you need to increase your calories to start burning fat and losing weight. Roadblock #2: Too Many Calories One plan does not fit all. If you are a small-framed person or have a more sluggish metabolism, your calorie needs are smaller than some plans allow for. While counting calories isn’t the goal when it comes to a good diet, it’s a good idea for you to keep this in mind when choosing a plan. Roadblock #3: Food Sensitivities Sometimes weight loss stalls when you’re eating foods that trigger inflammation in your body. If you aren’t aware of these sensitivities, then a process of elimination is needed to find the offenders and remodel the diet to suit your body’s individual needs. Roadblock #4: The Diet Rollercoaster If you tend to binge eat, go on and off diets regularly, or eat foods off your plan regularly, it’s difficult to lose the weight. This diet rollercoaster leads to a stalled metabolism and limits your results. Consistency is the key here to reset your metabolism for a healthy weight loss. Roadblock #5: Diet Without Detox Your fat cells store the toxins your sluggish liver and colon are unable to process and eliminate from the body. Without detox, these toxins have no place to go and your weight won’t budge. You should feel healthier as you lose weight. If not, this is a sign you’re not eliminating the circulating toxins and you need to detox. Roadblock #6: Diseases That Slow Metabolism If you have diabetes, thyroid disease, or adrenal fatigue, your metabolism is more sluggish and weight loss will take more time. These disease states require more nourishing foods that are nutrient dense. This is when slow and steady wins the race, and listening to your body’s needs is important. Other causes of sluggish metabolism include over-exercising and some prescription medications. Keep your exercise light to moderate and consult your doctor if medications are holding back your progress. Roadblock #7: Hormone Havoc The changes in hormones over monthly cycles and life cycles lead to changes in the ability to lose weight. There are times of the month and times in life when it’s more challenging to lose weight. When hormones are deficient, the fat cells step in and manufacture those needed hormones, so the body won’t give up that extra weight until the hormones are balanced again. Some hormone changes also cause bloating, which looks like weight gain but is usually only temporary. If your weight loss is stalled, consider saliva hormone testing to check your levels. Then read Before the Change by Ann Louise Gittleman to get your hormones back on track. Roadblock #8: Getting Discouraged It can really get you down to not see the progress you are trying so hard to achieve. When you have unknown roadblocks standing in your way, even the process of finding them seems too hard, especially when others are having the success you want so much. Don’t give up! It’s important to measure success in inches lost, pounds lost, and how closely you’re following the program. It helps to have a good understanding of the program you’re doing. Sometimes the program is preparing your body to lose weight and sometimes you only lose bloat (water weight). Read the success stories of people similar to you and pattern yourself after them. Stay focused and stay the course. Join groups like the Fat Flush Nation on Facebook to get the support of others who are on the same path to health as you are. Learn moreThe Power of a Miracle Mindset
By James Templeton As a fifth generation Texan, I come from a long line of cowboys who know how to fight. My ancestors fought hard in the Battle of San Jacinto, and won. So when that doctor thought I was going to turn tail and run from a battle with Stage IV cancer, he had another thing coming, and I really gave it to him. Anger came over me and I yelled at him probably like no one else had before. That Oncologist turned white as a ghost and walked out without saying a word. I didn’t care. He wasn’t in the fight with me. He just told me there was nothing else I could do and said, “Everyone’s gotta go sometime.” He tried to take my hope away. His treatment took me within an inch of my life! I crawled out of that hospital bed at two in the morning, believing there had to be a better way. And here I am, alive and well, sharing my story over 30 years later. Make the Decision and Choose to Believe No matter what you’re dealing with in regard to your health, you need to make the decision to do whatever it takes to reach your goal. Whether you want to lose a few pounds, boost your energy, have better skin and hair, or you’re facing a life-threatening illness, you have to believe you can do it. You can choose to be pitiful or powerful, and you need a miracle mindset to win. Your Beliefs Affect Your Body For over 10 years, cellular biologist Dr. Bruce Lipton has been teaching about the biology of belief. He learned, through his research, that the environment your cells are in controls the health of the cell. It’s not your genetics that are in control. Your brain releases the chemicals that control the genetic activity of the cell. When you change your perception of the world, you change the chemistry of the brain. This, in turn, changes the health of the cell. If you look at your body or the world around you with anger or fear, your brain chemistry is very different from when you’re in love. In fear and anger, you shut yourself down as a means of protection. This turns off growth and suppresses the immune system, which is detrimental to a body that needs to heal. You only have conscious control of 5% of your thoughts and actions – 95% of your habits are controlled by your subconscious mind. Even though the majority of these habits come from the first seven years of your life, new habits are slowly but steadily being formed all the time. To give an example, when you learned how to drive a car as a teenager, you had to pay attention to how to do it. After several years, you no longer have to think about how to drive – it’s become a habit. In the same way, you can change your beliefs about your health and this will help you succeed – even at the cell level – if you just keep at it. Develop a Miracle Mindset Half of achieving your goal is your belief. No matter what it is I’m facing and no matter how bad it looks, my fighting spirit takes over and kicks out the “can’t do” mindset. The first thing that helped me to do this was to read the stories of others who had achieved what I was going for. I believed if someone else could do it I could, too. Study people who have succeeded in your goals and pattern your strategy after them. I also learned to practice visualization. I pictured myself healthy and cancer-free. I did this whether I was lying in bed or going for a walk. I didn’t let doubt and fear creep in. You can always find reasons not to do something – don’t let them win! Remind yourself why you’re doing what you’re doing. No matter how bad it looks, don’t feel sorry for yourself and press on toward the prize. And whatever you do – don’t give up. I wouldn’t be around all this time if I hadn’t kept a laser-like focus on my health and left my old unhealthy lifestyle behind. Sure, there are times I stray a little and indulge in something that’s not on my plan. But I believe as long as I keep one foot on the path to health, I’ll be just fine. This approach motivates me to get back on track when I’ve wandered off a little, and it’s worked well to keep me cancer-free for over thirty years now. I believe it will work for you, too.
Learn moreThe Anti-Nutrient That Sabotages Health and Weight Loss
By James Templeton Nothing will take you down the path to disease and weight gain faster than this highly addictive substance that most Americans consume daily in their diets. It hides in processed foods like ketchup, salad dressing, peanut butter, French fries and breads. It’s been linked to hair loss, high blood pressure, allergies, cardiovascular disease, insomnia, colon and pancreatic cancer, obesity, skin breakouts, bipolar disorder, dizziness, ADHD, tooth decay, hypoglycemia, metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes. It changes digestion into a fermentation process and leads to fungal infections like candida overgrowth. It depletes the body of magnesium and B vitamins. It releases an opiate-like substance that causes addiction. I’m talking about refined sugar. People crave it but it’s so harmful. The average person eats over 150 pounds of sugar per year because it’s so addictive. Doing the math, this much sugar causes a weight gain of 1 pound per week. This is a cumulative weight gain – you don’t go back to zero at the end of the week, you add this pound to the one you gained last week, and so on for at least 52 pounds per year just from sugar. Refined sugars are empty calories; there are no vitamins or minerals left in there because they’ve been taken out during the refining process. And some refined sugars, like high fructose corn syrup, confuse your body’s metabolic pathways and go immediately to be stored as fat because the body can’t figure out how to burn them for energy. Paleo Sweeteners Are Refined Sugars If you think your Paleo diet plan is exempt, think again– maple syrup is a refined sugar. Maple syrup is sap that has been boiled for many hours and reduced to syrup, then skimmed and filtered to remove minerals and sediment. It takes 25 minutes of brisk walking for the average-sized person to burn off just 2 Tablespoons of pure maple syrup. Sugar Feeds Cancer According to the National Cancer Institute, 1 out of every 2 men and 1 out of every 3 women will get cancer in their lifetime. Research shows a direct link between sugar and both colon and pancreatic cancer. But the fact is, any cancer needs sugar to live. And in this case it isn’t just refined sugar that’s your problem – alcohol and carbs also convert to sugar and can be used as fuel for cancer. Use the Glycemic Index to Guide Your Food Choices The glycemic index of foods measures how much a carbohydrate food raises blood sugar. The higher the glycemic index, the higher that food raises your blood sugar. This is important to know even if you aren’t diabetic, for a few reasons. First, we’re all going to enjoy carbs in our diets. If you don’t, you can’t make enough of the hormones your body needs for metabolism and your core body temperature will drop which causes a whole host of problems. We need to wisely choose the carbs that will cause the least amount of increase in blood sugar. Second, your body works best when blood sugars stay level without dramatic highs and lows. When your blood sugar goes up and down like a rollercoaster, inflammation levels rise, insulin levels rise, and stress hormone levels rise. This all leads to weight gain, fatigue, insomnia and more. If you want to feel your best, keep your blood sugar on an even keel. Finally, if you are dealing with cancer or any other chronic illness, sugar plays a role. It might not seem obvious, like the connection between diabetes and dietary sugar, but it’s there. And the truth is, we all want an occasional treat, even when we are on the healthiest diet. The glycemic index can guide you to the best choice to keep blood sugars down when you do indulge. Supplements You Need When Sugar Is In Your Diet For every molecule of sugar you eat, it takes 54 molecules of Magnesium to break it down. This quickly depletes Magnesium and leads to a deficiency. A good quality Magnesium supplement like Mag-Key can be taken in doses as high as 2000mg (or bowel tolerance) to bring levels back up to the optimal range. Your body burns through B vitamins during times of stress or high sugar consumption. Methylated B Vitamins are an important part of your supplement regimen, especially if MTHFR methylation gene issues run in your family. Our Female Multiple and Male Multiple contain the methylated B vitamins your body needs to recharge after sugar consumption. I recommend our Time-C, Vitamin C with lysine to help keep collagen structures of the tissues and cells healthy and strong. High sugar consumption causes inflammation, which weakens the collagen, and cancer is a collagen disease which spreads by breaking down weak collagen. Weak collagen also makes us look older than we are, contributing to wrinkles and sagging skin. Beer, wine, vodka and more all turn to sugar in the body and should be avoided in the presence of a chronic disease. If you are healthy these drinks can be enjoyed in moderation, just make sure to take the supplements listed above, and add Y-C Cleanse to keep your health on track. Y-C Cleanse is our yeast and candida cleansing supplement. I take this whenever I’ve indulged in sugary foods or a little alcohol and want to make sure I don’t encourage any candida overgrowth. Replacements For Refined Sugars I enjoy carob and raw cacao-based treats sweetened with monk fruit or stevia. These sweeteners taste sweet without the sugar. Here’s a recipe shared from our personal chef Teresa that makes a good occasional treat: 4.7 from 3 reviews Save Print Choco-Carob Cookies Author: James Templeton Recipe type: Dessert Cook time: 10 mins Total time: 10 mins Ingredients 1 cup thick almond butter 1 egg, whisked, or 1 flaxseed "egg" (see instructions) ½ cup unsweetened cocoa or carob powder 1 teaspoon almond extract Pinch of sea salt 2 teaspoons stevia, or to taste ¼ cup unsweetened vegan carob chips or unsweetened chocolate chips ¼ cup chopped walnuts Instructions Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with unbleached parchment paper. Add all ingredients to a large bowl. Now you gotta get down and dirty - get your hands in there and mix and blend all the ingredients until fully incorporated into a dough. (You could use a stand mixer with a dough hook if you have one, but it's more fun this way! There's no way you can mix this puppy with a spoon.) Scoop out about a tablespoon of dough for each cookie, form into a ball and place on cookie sheet. Press down lightly on each cookie to lightly flatten them a little bit. Bake for 10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes before touching them or they will crumble apart. Tips: You can substitute other nut butters. You just want it to be room temp and thick. You can substitute for the almond extract. Flaxseed Egg Substitute: Mix 1 Tablespoon ground flaxseed with 3 Tablespoons water and let sit in fridge for 10 minutes. 3.5.3208 References: https://www.dhhs.nh.gov/dphs/nhp/documents/sugar.pdf
Learn moreWhat’s Lymph Got To Do With It?
By James Templeton For me, exercise is just as important as diet and supplements when it comes to maintaining my health. When I had my second cancer surgery they removed a large portion of the lymph glands in my lower body. This handicapped me in a way, because if I don’t move enough to keep that lymph moving, I get sluggish and don’t feel as well. And if I go too long, my leg will swell. It’s called lymphedema, and I’ve heard it’s common after cancer surgery. Get Your Lymph Moving Especially in the beginning, I had to use a lymph pump for several hours a day to get the lymph fluid moving in my leg. I’d even sleep with that machine running and my leg propped up on pillows to get the job done. Once I made my lifestyle healthier, ate foods that cleanse the lymph, and understood the importance of exercise, I got so I needed the pump less and less until I didn’t need it anymore at all. Since then I’ve set a permanent goal to exercise at least 5 days a week so I don’t get sluggish and swell up again. The lymph system is your body’s second circulatory system, but it doesn’t have a pump like the heart to keep it moving. Lymph only moves when you move. When lymph doesn’t move it pools, and that causes swelling and even infection in the areas where it’s stagnant. The lymphatic system is an important part of your body’s immune system. The lymph nodes make immune cells and act as filters for the lymph fluid to remove bacteria and even cancer cells. When that lymph fluid isn’t moving, the filters plug up and that’s when the problems start. Organs like the spleen, thymus, and even the tonsils and adenoids are all affected when lymph stops moving. Read on to learn simple ways to reduce leg swelling. Simple Steps to Relieve Your Leg Swelling The number one key to relieving my leg swelling is exercise. For me, walking works the best. I worked my way up to walking an hour a day, and spend at least 10 minutes of that time doing deep breathing exercises and really getting that oxygen in. I want it to go to all of my tissues so cancer has no place to hide – it doesn’t thrive where there’s oxygen. I make sure some of my walk is up and down hills, and I do it any kind of weather. Rebounding on a mini-trampoline is another great way to move the lymph. Lymph nodes open and close vertically and the up-and-down motion of jumping on the trampoline cleanses the lymph and gets it moving in the direction it needs to go. Other things that help keep lymph moving are cran water (from Ann Louise Gittleman’s Fat Flush Plan), cleavers tea, lymphatic massage from a practitioner, alternating hot and cold showers, and my personal favorite – Vitamin C. Make sure you are well hydrated; lymph can’t flow like it should when the body is dehydrated and that will cause water retention and bloating. Lose the Water Weight If you have belly fat, bloating, swelling in your ankles and legs, and acid reflux symptoms, then you have lymphatic congestion. Have you ever seen those people who start on a diet and in the first week lose 10 pounds or even more? There’s a reason for this – water weight from the lymph system being backed up. That diet they started increased their water intake so they’re no longer dehydrated, and increased their vegetables and fruits, which cleanse lymph and get it flowing again. Once the lymph gets moving the water weight comes off. The best thing I can recommend other than eating healthy is to move every day. Take an hour a day, just for yourself; walk and deep breathe. Join a mall walkers group. Examine your life ahead – do you want to be stiff and swollen or do you want to be able to move and still do the activities you enjoy? It’s never too late to learn to take care of yourself.
Learn moreHow Vitamin C Saved My Life
By James Templeton Vitamin C was key to healing my cancer naturally and keeping me around for the long haul. When you charge like a bull into your own healing, willing to fight and do whatever it takes, I believe everything you need to get the job done will come to you. Vitamin C came to me like this. My Vitamin C Story A relative sent the Linus Pauling book on Vitamin C to me in the early stages of my healing from Stage IV Melanoma cancer. I was searching for something to add to my healing regimen and this book came in perfect timing. It talked about how people with terminal cancer would take up to 10,000 mg of Vitamin C and have a miraculous turnaround. As soon as I was out of the hospital I went out and got it, because I figured if Vitamin C worked for those terminal cancer patients it would help me, too. I didn’t really know what I was doing, so I bought a variety of types and took up to 20,000 mg a day. I was just getting a good start on the macrobiotic diet, which was the cornerstone of my cancer healing, but adding Vitamin C gave me a lot more energy and for the first time in many years I didn’t get sick with colds or flus. Even my seasonal allergies went away. I knew there was something to it, so I stuck with it. When I went full force into the macrobiotic lifestyle, I stopped taking the Vitamin C for about a year, but I missed the way I felt on it and added it back in. I felt like just doing a diet wasn’t enough to heal cancer and I needed to do more. I noticed people around that weren’t getting well when I was, and I realized the difference was the Vitamin C. How Vitamin C Stops Cancer In Its Tracks Linus Pauling and Matthias Rath, MD did a landmark 15-year study on a number of different types of cancer and Vitamin C. They gave people a mix of Vitamin C, l-lysine, l-proline, and EGCG (green tea extract), and they put a certain amount of people on placebo. After 15 years they discovered that cancer was a collagen disease, it kills people because it spreads to the different tissues through the collagen. There’s an enzyme in cancer cells that can eat through your body’s collagen. L-Lysine destroys the collagen-eating enzymes contained in cancer cells, according to Dr. Rath’s research. Vitamin C strengthens the collagen so the cancer can’t penetrate and spread. When the cancer can’t spread it can’t survive. Their conclusion was that the Vitamin C stopped 100% of the cancers from spreading. The most powerful nutrient combination was the one listed above. Metastasis causes 90% of cancer deaths and this micronutrient combination prevented metastasis. I wondered why the Vitamin C helped me, then the study came out and I knew what it had done for me. The melanoma has never come back. I’m convinced Vitamin C and macrobiotics saved my life from cancer. Vitamin C isn’t produced by the human body and it’s hard to get enough through fruits and vegetables. The body doesn’t produce lysine either. To get enough of either to help in the fight against cancer it has to be supplemented. The Vitamin C they used in this study is a combination of different types of highly absorbable forms. We All Need Vitamin C Vitamin C is known to help with immunity, chelate heavy metals, assist in detoxification, clean and repair arteries, and so much more. It even helps fight the common cold. Many years ago I had a severe mold exposure where I became out of breath, lost my exercise tolerance, and felt fatigued. I suspected my heart was the problem. I went to a well-known Cardiologist in New York and had a calcium score test done. He said my arteries were as clear as a baby’s, and I was 52 years old. With a family history of sudden cardiac death at a young age, I was relieved. When I thought about it later, I wondered what I had done to keep my arteries so clean. It wasn’t long before studies were released showing Vitamin C prevents heart attacks and stroke by keeping arteries clean and elastic while promoting wound healing. My artery testing is still clean today. The Best Forms of Vitamin C I’m a big believer in Vitamin C, I’ve taken it for more than 25 years. Not everyone should take as much as I do, but I believe along with a healthy lifestyle and great nutrition, it’s been a key to my healing. If you are looking for a good Vitamin C, UNI KEY’s Time-C is buffered with magnesium and lysine. For optimal health, I recommend 5000mg daily or to your bowel tolerance. I personally take both the UNI KEY Time-C and Dr. Rath’s. I don’t use his whole protocol, just his Vitamin C blend. His formula is available by request at UNI KEY, or on his product website at https://shop.drrath.com/products/dr-rath-vitacforte-synergy-formula. If you are looking for more information about Vitamin C and cancer, I encourage you to go to Dr. Rath’s nonprofit foundation page at http://www4.dr-rath-foundation.org.
Learn moreBalance Cell pH and Fix Your Fatigue
By James Templeton Today I’m going to share with you my secret for living a long life and boosting energy and vitality. My mentor and teacher, Dr. Hazel Parcells lived a vibrant life until she died at 106 years old. I really looked up to her, she taught me how to formulate products and how to live long and healthy like she did. The secret is balancing your cell pH. Read on to find out how to fix your fatigue and balance your cell pH! The Key to a Long, Healthy Life Everything you eat, drink and think affects your cells and their pH. This isn’t the same as blood or biochemical pH, which we measure using blood tests or pH strips in saliva or urine. Your cell pH is the environment inside your cells that is a measure of vitality, or your life force. Cells need to be slightly acidic for optimal health. As we age, we get more alkaline on a cell level. The longer you stay alkaline, the more the pH on the blood cell level increases and you get more and more tired and lose vitality. The cells and their energy are universal keys to health. When you have a balanced pH on the cell level, you fool the body into thinking it’s young again. This is the key to longevity. Dr. Parcells believed that balancing your cellular pH on a daily basis would keep away all forms of disease in your lifetime, and told me it was essential to keep my cancer from returning. The Telltale Sign Your Cell pH is Out of Whack How many times have you gone out for what you think is a healthy lunch, only to get back to the office and feel the overwhelming urge to take a nap? Or maybe you’re driving on a road trip and have to pull out all the stops like singing at the top of your lungs, sticking your head out the window, or drinking a big cup of coffee just to stay awake. And it’s just considered par for the course when we are more tired as we get older. These things aren’t normal. This fatigue is the sign of an alkaline cell pH. We shouldn’t be any more tired now than we were as children. Whether we’re eating, aging or doing something monotonous like driving, we should have enough energy to do whatever we’d like. We use your energy level as a gage for cell pH. When you feel that fatigue where you just have to take a nap, or worse – when it’s full-blown Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and you’re exhausted all the time, then your pH is alkaline and needs to be corrected to restore your energy levels. http://blog.unikeyhealth.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/10000000_1549960388395995_527375396438540288_n.mp4 Fix Your Fatigue As soon as this lethargic feeling hits me, I do one of these 3 things to bring balance back to my cell pH, to where I’ll have energy and vitality again. It only takes about 30 minutes before I feel my energy coming back. Drink unpasteurized, good quality Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) like Braggs in some water. You can use 2 teaspoons in 8 ounces of water. Drink the cran water from Ann Louise Gittleman’s Fat Flush plan. Use 1 ounce of unsweetened cranberry juice to 7 ounces of water. This not only corrects cellular pH but also boosts your metabolism. My personal favorite is to use unpasteurized, unheated sauerkraut. I like Bubbie’s brand and have been using it for years. You can eat ½ cup to start with but you can go up to a full cup if you’d like. This also helps balance your intestinal flora and increase probiotics, the healthy bacteria. Start by using these methods when you feel tired, then increase to 2-3 times every day, but more isn’t better; it’s a delicate balance. If you have severe fatigue or other health issues going on, it takes time to rebalance the cell pH. If you keep at it you should notice a difference in 2-3 months. If you’re dealing with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, our Adrenal Formula can also give you a boost in energy while nourishing and strengthening your adrenals. pH Balance Your Food and Spices It takes time to learn to balance the pH of our meals. We take spices for granted but historically these herbs have been used as medicine and affect us deeply on a cell level. For example, Italian spices like oregano and basil are alkaline, but the acidity of the tomato sauce they’re added to in a typical Italian meal balances it out. If I eat a steak, salad, baked potato and some steamed greens I feel good; I use salt to balance out the acidity of the meat. But if that same meal has too much black pepper or too many spices, it will become unbalanced and I’ll feel tired. When foods are too acidic the body buffers and overcompensates and becomes alkaline at the cell level. This is why people like to drink wine when they eat, it offsets the acidity of the meal temporarily in the stomach and helps with digestion while they’re eating, but then they crash and become more alkaline. It’s the same thing with coffee and soda – your pH is going up and down like a seesaw along with your energy levels, blood sugar and stress hormones. Don’t go for the quick fix – eat a good balanced meal. It’s better to feel good than to feel like garbage and tired all the time just so your food tastes good. If you feel like you were knocked in the head after a meal, then the meal wasn’t balanced. It usually takes about an hour to feel how a meal has affected cell pH, and often what we think are blood sugar issues are really pH imbalance. Beat Bedtime Blues with Balanced Cell pH When you toss and turn at night, feeling stressed out and unable to sleep, that’s pH imbalance – too acidic – at the cell level. Drinking ¼ teaspoon of salt or baking soda in 8 ounces of water, or a little lemon water at bedtime will bring you back into balance and help you get to sleep. If a bath helps you relax, use 2 cups of salt in the bath and soak for 20 minutes if you’re acidic, or use 2 cups of vinegar and soak for 20 minutes if you are too alkaline. Get Balanced for Good Health The body is like the soil; when it’s out of balance you can’t grow anything healthy – parasites, fungus and other “bad bugs” attack easily. We need to understand what it takes to have nutrient-rich, pH balanced “soil” at the cell level to grow good probiotics and thrive. If you have vitality through the day, and have enough energy for all you want to accomplish, you are probably pH balanced in your cells. But if you are up and down or generally tired and lethargic, then you are out of balance. The older we get, in general people tend to get more tired and more out of balance. When we become extremely alkaline on a cellular level, our life force diminishes and we are on the way out.
